Gravesend RFC is proud to announce the appointment of Sam Howard as the club’s new Head Coach ahead of the upcoming season.
Sam joins with an outstanding coaching resume and extensive experience at all levels of the game. A Level 4 RFU coach, he most recently led Old Elthamians RFC to a league title with four games to spare. He previously guided them to National One and came within one win of securing promotion to the Championship.
His career highlights include leading Dulwich College to three consecutive U18 Schools Cup victories, and directing Exeter University to a BUCS championship. Sam is known not only for his tactical acumen and player development skills but also for fostering unity within coaching teams.
This appointment also marks a special homecoming, as Sam returns to Gravesend RFC—the very club where his rugby journey first began.
Director of Rugby James Percy commented:
“Sam’s track record speaks for itself. His knowledge, drive, and ability to get the best from players will be a massive asset to our club as we push for new heights. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Gravesend RFC looks forward to an exciting new chapter under his leadership.
