Club Statement: Tony Thatcher

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Thatcher, Vice President of GRFC, following a long and courageous battle with dementia.

A well-respected and much-loved figure within the local sporting community, Tony is remembered by many for his years of dedicated service as a teacher at Thamesview School. His commitment to sport was equally profound; in addition to his role at GRFC, he served as Vice President of Meopham Cricket Club and was a highly regarded Kent Rugby referee.

Tony’s passion, contribution, and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
