Grounds & Facilities Updates

After many months I am pleased to say the refurbishment of the Players Bar is coming together with the end finally in sight.  From what was essentially a shell after the discovery of asbestos we shall over the next week begin to see the finished product. Many thanks to Ian Datlen and Theobalds for undertaking the work.  Aside from everything you can see we have invested heavily on making the club house more energy efficient through insulation and the installation of heat source  pumps to control the temperature in the new bar.

You may have also noticed the new green tank.  This is part of our new borehole and irrigation project which will save the club up to 20,000 litres of water a day.  This has been made possible through grants from Thames Water and the ECB and will lead to much better playing facilities without costing us a fortune.  See the attached link for more details which when fully commissioned with see rainwater harvesting save even more water.

You may recall but last year we worked with the Key Fund and the funders below to provide a number of energy efficient initiatives, including moving our floodlights toe LED, installing a solar scheme and the air source pumps mentioned above.  This allowed us to get a grant of £60k and a loan of £90k which will be repaid from the savings we make.

All of the above has been made possible from the land sale and the help of willing partners.

We will not stop there though as we look to continue with our upgrades across the club so that we have a club which continues to serve its members and the wider community.
