Gravesend produced a scintillating display of rugby either side of half time to blow away Beckenham at Rectory Field on Saturday. In doing so they blew away any hangover from four successive defeats and leaves them comfortably in mid-table.

After a relatively even start with tries traded between the two sides Samraj Chalal added to his opener and the one from Player of the Match Josh Barnes to give Gravesend the edge. Some ill discipline from Beckenham saw them concede a penalty at kick off and Gravesend added another just before the break. 24-12 HT.
The second half opened in a flurry and tries from Stanley Dadson and Les Falefatu interspersed by another Chahal touch down, his fourth of the game, saw Gravesend take the game to 43-12 with 20 minutes still to play.
Credit to Beckenham who took advantage of the disruption that a few Gravesend changes made and scored three unanswered tries to bring the final score to a respectable 43-31 margin.
Gravesend are now 7th in the table and just 4 points behind 4th placed Beckenham.
With an International break next weekend Gravesend’s next game is away to Dartfordians on 22nd November.
